Health Journal, Book, and Website

Custom Health Journal

Sarah Kay Hoffman, A Gutsy Girl, reached out to Weller Smith Design to create a custom journal to help those suffering from gut health issues. It can be an uncomfortable process to go through when you are trying to learn about what is happening in your body, and Sarah wanted this journal to be beautiful, yet very hard-working in that it would be the place to keep detailed notes and track their health on a day to day basis.

The Requirements

  • A high-end, custom design was requested with complex charts to track daily insights and progress.
  • A beautiful soft-touch cover is available in two design styles also has an elastic band to hold the journal closed, or act as a placeholder.
  • Full-Color pages throughout to track your progress over 3 months time.
  • A flexible tracking system with a perforated key code is included to help users find the best way to log and track different things in their health history.
  • Note sections are included to remember things you wanted to ask your doctor, along with sections about test results and more.
  • A convenient pocket is also included to tuck important papers or notes away for reference.

Homepage Revamp

Once the planner project was complete, Sarah came back to Weller Smith Deign to flesh out her existing homepage. At the time, the homepage was a typical blog roll format which did not allow for the users to see much of her very important and valuable content.

The Requirements

  • Design a more hard-working homepage that felt more elevated in design and would better showcase the wide range of content available on the site.
  • Designed with specific limitations in mind from the active WordPress theme.
  • Design aesthetic was to follow the brand styling that was created for the custom journal.
  • Added new typefaces and colors throughout the site.

A Gutsy Girl’s Bible: 21-Day Gut Health Book

Sarah came to Weller Smith Design to redesign her best-selling, A Gutsy Girl’s Bible. Sarah has spent years collecting and cataloging information to help others who are struggling with their own gut health issues. She felt it was finally time to take this product to the next level and to provide her community with an even better gut health resource.

The Requirements

  • Sarah started with a Developmental Editor to dial in the content, create a more cohesive flow, and expand on areas that needed a little more clarification.
  • For Design, Sarah wanted to create something that was very clean and simple so that the reader could concentrate on the content.
  • She also wanted a unique layout to provide the reader with ample space to take notes throughout the sections of the book.
  • She included a special section: 21-Day Approach to Healing the Gut along with a plethora of information and resources.
